Announcement from the board of management

The board of management at Luton Community Housing t/a Squared are pleased to announce the appointment of Kierson Benfield as our new Chief Executive Officer. 

Kierson has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Squared for a number of years. She has stepped into her new role following the retirement of Lynda Rees after 22 years as Chief Executive Officer. 

Kierson brings extensive leadership and strategic experience with a customer first approach demonstrated in her previous role. She will be responsible for delivering our strategic objectives in line with our core purpose, to inspire lives. 

Kierson is passionate about providing good quality, affordable accommodation for those in need, especially as Luton is her hometown. Kierson has witnessed first-hand the impact of our amazing teams work on a daily basis. She is eager to build on the long-standing foundations of the organisation established by Lynda Rees and the board of management. 

Kierson said “I was delighted to accept the position of Chief Executive Officer at Squared. Thanks to Lynda’s strong leadership and a clear strategy in place, it’s both a challenging and exciting time to lead the organisation into the future. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the Leadership team and our dedicated team members to continue to deliver the excellent services our customers rightly deserve.”

Lynda Rees successfully led Squared for over 20 years and leaves behind a solid legacy, strong team and robust foundation for the future. 

Lynda said “It has been an honour and great pleasure working with the amazing board of management and staff teams over the years, who have made my job so much easier. I am pleased to be leaving the management of the organisation in very capable hands. I know the organisation will continue to thrive and provide excellent services for our customers while inspiring lives through the amazing work they do, every day.”

Glyn Early, Chair of the Squared board of management, said “The board are extremely proud of Lynda’s dedication and everything that she has achieved over the years. Her legacy speaks for itself and she will be missed at Squared but we wish her a happy and fulfilled retirement.

As our Deputy Chief Executive, Kierson, has been a key part of our Leadership team here at Squared for a number of years, our Board were delighted to make the decision to appoint Kierson as Lynda’s successor and our new Chief Executive Officer.”
