Warm homes discount scheme

With the Universal Credit £20 uplift ending soon along with the likely increase in energy costs coming over the winter, you might be concerned about keeping on top of your bills. A Government scheme beginning in October that lasts through until Spring could help you reduce your electric bill.

The Warm Home Discount Scheme allows you to get £140 off your electricity bill in the form of a one-off discount off of your bill. You might be eligible for a discount on your gas bill instead depending on your supplier. 

Different energy suppliers criteria for eligibility will vary slightly but their are two ways to qualify for this scheme:

• you get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit 
• you’re on a low income and meet your energy supplier’s criteria for the scheme
