Hate crime is any criminal act which someone believes is driven by hostility or prejudice against a person’s disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

We take all forms of harassment very seriously and we won’t allow discrimination of any kind.

Hate crime is illegal.

Hate crimes can also include:

  • Assault
  • Damage to a property
  • Harassment
  • Inciting others to commit hate crimes
  • Robbery
  • Threatening behaviour

Hate crime incidents should always be reported to the police as the first step. For non-emergencies, call 101, and for emergencies, call 999.

Once you’ve reported the incident to the police, please contact us. We’ll then investigate further.

We will do everything we can to support those affected by hate crime. Please be assured that you will be treated with compassion and sensitivity.

We also provide support through referrals to external agencies where necessary.
